I’ll never forget that first experience of pushing up the GE F118 turbo fan engine and feeling 17,000 pounds of raw thrust rocket me down the runway. Then you leap into the air after only a few hundred feet and then continue accelerating and pitching to an uncomfortable angle skyward.
This training video shows a standard launch and climb to only 2,000 feet, which was a typical starting altitude for different practice emergency patterns.
